As we enter this season of light, laughter, and loved ones, I want to thank each and every one of you for making 2025 such an incredible year in The Heights!
Included in this, my final Letter From The President, is my family’s Christmas card. While I would have loved to print and mail this to every single house in the neighborhood, Bill said that “was not reasonable”… he has always been my most cherished sounding board! So, please consider this digital version a small token of how much this community means to us. As my chapter as your President comes to a close, please know that I will be cheering with joy for all that is to come!
Serving as your President next year is my dear friend, Katye Tipton. While this role is
not new to Katye, I have no doubt that she will bring fresh ideas to our association in the new year. As she is both a wealth of knowledge and a steady hand, it is a privilege to pass the reins back to Katye! (And since it is December, consider that Santa pun intended)
But before we ring in the new year, the Houston Heights has one more sleigh-full of celebration left in it!
If you’ve never experienced the charm of this beloved tradition, this is your year! Twinkling lights, stunning homes, festive music, and holiday treats; it’s the kind of seasonal magic you just need to see for yourself.
🎁 Holiday Bingo @ the December General Meeting: This Monday
Come ready to win at our final General Meeting of the year, where we’re wrapping up 2025 with Holiday Bingo, Toy Donations for Precinct 1, and plenty of Ugly Sweater cheer. You don’t want to miss it!
Shop local, sip cocoa, watch your kiddos enjoy the North Pole Playland, and soak in the holiday cheer at our artisan market. It’s the perfect place to finish your gift list and support amazing neighborhood vendors.
If you’re still looking for a place to find community and meaning this holiday season, I’d love for you to join my family at Village Heights; the church where Bill and I serve as pastors. Whether you’re full of joy or feeling worn down by the hustle, you are more than welcome to join us for our Christmas events! We’re hosting Santa at Marmion Park this Saturday, serving Christmas Lunch to our neighbors at Heights Tour and Heights House on 12/21, and enjoying a Candlelight Gathering together on 12/24. You can find more information on Christmas at Village Heights at ChristmasInTheHeights.com.
From my heart to yours: Thank You! For showing up. For volunteering. For cheering. For dreaming. Serving this community as HHA President has been such a gift. While my time will soon end, this is obviously not “goodbye”! I look forward to supporting our neighborhood, in a different capacity, for many years to come.
This Christmas season, I am wishing you more connection, more kindness, and more joy to share. Happy Holidays, Houston Heights!
With love and gratitude, Rev. Hannah White President, Houston Heights Association president@houstonheights.org
